This blog is being created to track my YurtOfDoom project, which was inspired by a chance comment, and a swiss guy. :)

The design? a ~20, traditional style. Mongolian "Ger" (I know.. the title here is YurtOfDOom, but thats only because a lot fewer people know what a "Ger" is :)

The intention: To bring it to BurningMan and BEYOND! I mean come on, a 20' structure that is wind proof, is safe to cook inside of, and has no windows at ground level? :)

The Place: Rockport, MA

I'll be starting by obsessing over materials, explaining my reasoning for things, and so on. Woo!

And by the way, I am looking for volunteers... if you DO volunteer for one day of good labor on this baby, you qualify for lifetime borrowing privileges, sight unseen! This means that you get priority to use the thing no matter whom else has asked about it.

So... lets get it ON. :-)
